Will enslaved child camel jockeys finally break free?

UAEs new law shows the way. Will influential Arab sheikhs follow the way?

This is an archived blog post from The Acorn.

Promises of tough action have been made before, but this time the rulers of the United Arab Emirates are expected to keep them. The upcoming ban on underaged camel jockeys is to be enforced with all seriousness. While this may not entirely solve the problem, it does set a useful precedent.

The rulers of UAE were not brought around by South Asian governments — where most of the child jockeys come from — but by a Pakistani non-governmental organisation.
