In London, British police arrested three terror suspects believed to be members of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). A Pakistani born student is being put on trial in Sydney for receiving terrorist training from the same organisation. In the United States, the Virginia Jihad group was caught recruiting American citizens to train with the LeT.
Even as enthusiastic Indian crowds welcome the Pakistani cricket team and its contingent of fans, police in New Delhi shot down three members of the LeT after a gunbattle. Police unearthed a cache of small arms in Bangalore; the LeT is suspected to be planning attacks on India’s IT industry.
No LeT up in Indian Kashmir too.
While police in different parts of the world are battling the LeT’s foot-soldiers, its leader, Hafiz Mohammed Saeed, remains a free man in Pakistan, busy stirring up hatred against the Shia Muslims in Pakistani Kashmir. And Gen Musharraf is helping tackle global terror?
