Pakistan to send troops to Iraq

Two of its three conditions are already met

This is an archived blog post from The Acorn.

First the Iraqi interim government formally requests the government of Pakistan in this regard. Second other Islamic countries also commit to sending troops and third the parliament of Pakistan gives approval for sending troops,” Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said. [Daily Times]

Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi had sent a letter to General Musharraf weeks ago and getting the Pakistani parliament to approve anything was never a problem. And as for that matter of getting Islamic countries to send troops, Malaysia has called for Islamic nations to consider sending forces to Iraq.

Some Pakistani soldiers will be seeing their movement orders very soon.

Update: Two Pakistanis are missing in Iraq raising fears of them being kidnapped.
