These consultations are significant because this is the first time the MJC has come onboard in the history of the Kashmir freedom movement. “In the first phase, the Kashmiri leadership formed the Policy and Planning Committee in which MJC Chief Syed Salahud Din was also included,” said Sheikh Tajamul, chairman of the Policy and Planning Committee.
“In the second phase, this committee held meetings with the political leadership of AJK and Pakistan, including Professor Khurshid Ahmed, Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Liaqat Baloch, the Amir of JI Punjab, were also present in the meeting,” Mr Tajamul said.
He said that members of the committee also met the chief of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, and the leader of the Jammiat-ul-Ansar. He said that members of the committee also met JKLF chief Amanullah Khan, the Amir of the JI AJK chapter, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other political leaders of the AJK.
