After the Vajpayee-Musharraf ‘courtesy-call’, Pakistan got its “composite dialogue” and India got its reassurance that “any territory under Pakistan’s control (will not be) used to support terrorism in any manner.” [Related report from the BBC]
Everyone will now breathe a sigh of relief as the ‘nuclear-armed neighbours’ will cool down the rhetoric for a while, whilst the amnesia-suffering Indian masses will enter into a hysteric bouts of India-Pak friendship.
There certainly is reason for optimism. But me, I’m just waiting for the winter snow to melt.
