Pakistan’s parliament is apparently awaiting the President’s assent on a bill that it passed recently — the Sherwani and Fatigues bill that allows Gen Musharraf to remain both head of state and army chief.
Sources told Daily Times that the president would keep his options open and would not sign the bill until he finally made up his mind and formally announces his decision on his uniform.
The bill cannot become a law until the president signs it, but if he does not sign this bill within 30 days after it is passed by parliament, it lapses.[Daily Times]Unless the other President is having second thoughts, its hard to imagine why Musharraf is putting on this show.
