Coming in the wake of India’s purchase of Admiral Gorshkov, a Cold-War era aircraft carrier, India and Russia are working together on a satellite navigation system (Glonass), which is expected to have more advanced capabilities than today’s (US operated) GPS systems. The new system is expected to have a constellation of 24 satellites. It also appears that Russia and India are drawing up a space-technology cooperation framework.{|<} This is an archived blog post from The Acorn.
